FIRST ALERT: Flash Flood Warning In Effect for New London County

Severe thunderstorms moved through the state Monday

The NBC Connecticut meteorologists are tracking severe storms moving through the state.

A severe thunderstorm watch was in effect for the entire state until 10 p.m., and a flash flood warning is in effect for New London County until 11:15 p.m.

In New London, first responders had to rescue several people who got stuck in their cars during flooding on Bank Street.

Rain will continue into Tuesday with periods of rain throughout the day and once again the potential for locally heavy rain.

With the rain and storm chances do come relief from the heat with temperatures in the low-80s on Monday and mid-70s on Tuesday.

The rest of the week will feature warm temperatures in the middle- to upper-80s along with moderate levels of humidity.
