Potting Soil Truck Flips Over in Naugatuck

Old Waterbury Road in Naugatuck has reopened after a tractor-trailer carrying potting soil flipped over, but the cleanup is expected to take hours.

Naugatuck police said there was a partial road closure after the truck turned on its side while trying to navigate a snow bank that contained a concrete barrier, spilling soil onto the roadway.

The road is known as South Main Street in Waterbury and traffic heading south from Waterbury into Naugatuck, or toward Route 8, was detoured down Platts Mill Road and back around to Old Waterbury Turnpike.

Expect delays in the area.
