Two Charged 2 in 2010 Killing of Hartford Man

A man's body was found in a rented SUV.

Massachusetts state police have charged two men in the killing of a Connecticut man whose body was found inside a rented sport-utility vehicle in 2010.

Arrest warrants were issued last week for Demery Williams, of West Haven, and Curtis Coombs, of Hartford, Hampden District Attorney Mark Mastroianni said.

They are accused of killing William Jones, 36, of Hartford in January 2010. He was found dead in a parking lot in Bloomfeld inside his rented Saturn SUV.

Mastroianni said authorities believe Jones was killed at a home in Springfield, Mass.

Williams was arrested on Wednesday in Hamden. The arrest warrant for Coombs has been lodged at the Cheshire Correctional Institution in Connecticut, where Coombs is currently serving a prison sentence on a probation violation.

The have been charged with murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, a stun gun.
