2 Connecticut Swimming Areas Closed

Indian Well in Shelton and Kettletown in Southbury are closed to swimming.

The waters there have blue-green algae in them, according to recent water tests that the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection conducted.

DEEP staff collected water samples in the waters of Connecticut's state parks and beaches and those two showed signs of blue-green algae.

The swimming areas are closed as a result and it's unclear whether they'll reopen.

DEEP did say, however, that water testing is over for the summer.
