UConn's Ollie Opens Wheelchair Accessible Court in Hartford

The University of Connecticut men's basketball coach is putting up a basketball net rather than cutting one down.

Kevin Ollie is opening a "Kevin's Kourt," a handicapped-accessible basketball court at the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford.

The court features various stations with special baskets designed for people in wheelchairs and with other disabilities.

It's the first such court in Hartford and one of several the UConn coach is building across the state.

Ollie first got involved in helping athletes with disabilities as a senior at UConn, when one of his former Husky teammates, Steve Emt, was paralyzed in a car accident.

Ollie will be joined Monday by Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and members of a wheelchair basketball team, who will host a basketball clinic for kids after the ceremony.
