Two men accused of performing plastic surgery without a license and disfiguring women in Stamford and New York have been charged in New York.
Carlos Arango and William Ordonez are accused of recruiting women from a spa in Queens and doing liposuction and fat transfers without general anesthesia, while Dr. Marlon Castillo periodically entered the procedure room, according to a news release from New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
According to Schneiderman, multiple patients were solicited and underwent surgery between April 2011 and December 2011 and two women went through surgery in Stamford.
Arango and Ordonez are accused of surgery on two patients in Connecticut and one in Manhattan, though neither is a licensed physician, physician assistant or nurse in either states.
Patients reported pain and some permanent disfigurement.
Castillo was arrested in Stamford last week and Arango was arrested in Florida. Ordonez remains at large, according to the attorney general.
Castillo and Arango pleaded not guilty to charges including fraud and assault and are being held on $100,000.
