Waterbury Untimely Death Ruled Homicide

An untimely death investigation in Waterbury has become a homicide investigation, according to Waterbury police.

Police said they were called to the intersection of Dikeman Street and Willard Street around 5:53 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unconscious man in a car with blood on him. When police arrived they discovered the victim, identified as Cameron Chapman, 25, of Waterbury, suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He did not survive.

Police initially investigated the case as an untimely death but on Sunday said the case is being investigated as a homicide.
