Used Car Dealers Accused of Forgery

The owners of Unlimited Auto Sales, a used-car dealership in Bridgeport, have been charged with forging registration documents.

Sergejs Junevics, 31, of Milford, and Pavel Shurba, 29, of Stratford, made up New Jersey registration documents and gave them to customers, police said.

Police began to investigate the Grant Street dealership after pulling over a Lexus sedan last December that had a phony temporary license plate.

Junevics admitted that he had made numerous copies of a New Jersey registration plate and told customers to take the out of state plates because there was a delay in getting Connecticut registrations, the Connecticut Post reports.

The owners of the dealership are scheduled to be arraigned on 10 counts of second-degree forgery on Aug. 3.

A phone listed for the dealership had been disconnected Wednesday.
