A Connecticut utility company is offering cities and towns a way to save money by letting the streets go dark during the early morning hours.
Connecticut Light and Power is giving municipalities the option to turn streetlights on at dusk and off at midnight.
No towns have signed on yet and communities that did this in the past abandoned the initiative because of concerns over safety.
