Vandals Go On Tear At Car Dealership

Owner Wants Help Identifying Two Men Responsible

Two men smashed cars at an East Hartford car dealership over the weekend, causing thousands of dollars' worth of damage and now the owner is looking for help him to the vandals.

Pat Skelly said he has surveillance pictures of one of the two men he said smashed through a window at Nutmeg Auto Wholesalers, shattering his dreams.

“We have extensive damage. Cars were hit. Windows were smashed,” he said.

Two men spent about an hour and a half destroying his shop on Sunday. The security alarms went off but that did not stop them from trying to drive a car through a wall of bushes and a fence, Skelly said.

Skelly said he also has photos of an East Hartford police officer who drove by during the vandalism.

“You see the video -- the police pulling in at the same time perpetrators were inside the building,” he said.

East Hartford police had no comment.

Anyone who knows the man is in the picture is asked to call Nutmeg Auto Wholesalers or East Hartford police.
