Vernon Man Charged With Kidnapping

Vernon police have charged a 31-year-old resident with kidnapping, risk of injury to a child and harassment.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Talcottville Road at 5:17 a.m. on Saturday and officers learned that Danny Perry, of Prospect Street in Rockville, had unlawfully taken the young daughter of a woman and refused to return her unless certain demands of his were met, police said.

He kept the girl in his car, called her mother repeatedly, but refused to say where he was, despite
her pleas that the girl be returned, police said.

When Danny Perry was speaking with the mother, police found his car parked at a local business, removed him from the vehicle, arrested him and returned the little girl to her mother, police said. The little girl was not hurt.

Perry is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond and is due in court on Dec, 10.

Vernon police also charged Amanda Perry, 26, of the same Prospect Street address, with disorderly conduct.

Police said she admitted to hitting her husband several times with a pillow and squeezing his testicles as he attempted to leave the apartment.

Amanda was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and is also due in court on Monday.
