Vernon Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Chinese Restaurant

Police are looking for the man who committed an armed robbery at China Taste Chinese Restaurant in Vernon on Monday night.

A man who was wearing makeup to disguise his appearance walked into the restaurant, pointed a gun at the women behind the counter, demanded money and fled after taking an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

Police received a 911 call reporting the robbery at 10:18 p.m. and responded to the Northeast Shopping Plaza, at 75 East Street, where they secured the scene and searched for the robber.

A Manchester Police K9 unit was brought in but police were not able to find the man.

The victims described the robber as skinny and around 6-feet-2-inches tall. He was wearing a tan jacket and had on glasses with yellow lens, according to police.

The man was last seen running on Fern Street.
