Vigil Held for Nightclub Shooting Victim

Dozens of people gathered in downtown Hartford tonight to mourn the loss of 21-year-old Miguel Delgado, who was shot and killed outside the Up Or On The Rocks nightclub early Friday morning.

Angel Morales, 25, of New Haven, turned himself in to police today and is being held on a $1 million bond. He's charged with murder and criminal possession of a firearm.

Police said Morales and Delgado fought over a spilled drink at the club, then took the fight to the street. Delgado was shot in the chest.

Friends say they are devastated and want the violence to stop.

"They have no soul," said Jonathan Torres, a friend of Delgado, at the vigil tonight. "That's not right to kill somebody over something like a spilled drink. Come on, that could have been resolved."

Another friend, Angel Fontanez, said Delgado was like a brother to him.

"It's one of the hardest things I've had to deal with in so long," Fontanez said.

Up Or On The Rocks is currently closed, and Hartford police said the owner might be required to hire officers to watch over the club before it will be allowed to reopen.

It was the club's second deadly shooting this month.
