Former NBA and University of Hartford star Vin Baker is in some deep financial trouble with the state. The state Department of Revenue Services lists Baker as the state's second biggest tax delinquent.
The agency says Baker owes nearly $1.2 million in back taxes to the state in a list of the top 100 tax delinquents in the state each month.
Those who are working with the state to pay down the debt or who have declared bankruptcy are taken off the list.
Baker, who owned a failed restaurant as well, has been on the list for the last several months. That list will be updated at the end of the month.
A spokesperson for the Department of Revenue Services told the Day of New London that names appear on the list as a motivation for delinquent taxpayers to pay off their debt to the state.
