Volunteer, See Gaga for Free

By giving a little bit to the homeless this chilly winter season, you could get in to see one hot concert from the current queen of pop, Lady Gaga, for free at Mohegan Sun.

For a chance to get your hands on a ticket to Lady Gaga’s Jan. 18 show, you have to sign up to volunteer, then follow through on your community service commitment.

Virgin Mobile is running the promotion, called Free V.I.P., which has the motto “Volunteer for Them, VIP for You.”

Virgin Mobile teamed up with United Services, a Connecticut-based behavioral health center that helps children, teens, adults and families throughout Northeastern Connecticut. And there are openings for 10 volunteers to drop off 10 service kits to homeless youth.

“There are plenty of homeless youth agencies that need your help. In exchange for a few hours of your time, we're offering select volunteers the opportunity to join us at one of Lady Gaga's upcoming shows,” Virgin Mobile says on its Web site.

The spots fill up quickly, Virgin Mobile warns, especially with an invite to the Haus of Gaga  on the line – and for great seats, no less, in first 30 rows. So, sign up soon. If you want to bring a friend, they’ll have to sign up to.

The sign-up period started on Dec. 17 and goes until Jan. 5 and you have to be available to volunteer on Jan. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m.

If you are a ticket recipient, will be notified by e-mail by Jan. 11. If you don’t act quickly, there might be another shot. Gaga will be in Wallingford on Jan, 17, so stay tuned for volunteer opportunities for that show.
