A water main broke in Hartford and water has been shut off for several multifamily houses and one business on Redding Street.
Officials from MDC said the 8-inch water main broke at 19-21 Redding St. and crews shut down the main, which was installed in 1928, at 1:25 a.m.
Five multifamily residences on Redding St., from Wethersfield Avenue to 28 Redding St., and Payless Auto Glass are affected by the shutdown.
Repairs are underway and expected to be complete between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
