West Hartford Man Facing Child Porn Charges

State police began their investigation in May

A West Hartford Man has been charged with possession of child porn.

Authorities began investigating the sharing of child pornography via the internet in May after suspicious web activity was traced back to an apartment at 887 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford, according to state police.

Troopers served a search and seizure warrant at the apartment Wednesday. Investigators conducted a preview of the seized items and found suspected child pornography, police said.

As a result, troopers arrested Lawrence Marks and charged him with possession of child pornography, obscenity and promoting a minor in an obscene performance. He was released on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 11.
