West Haven Police Seize 360 Pounds of Marijuana

The West Haven narcotics squad and agents from Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search and seizure warrant at 737 Third Ave. on Wednesday and seized about 360 pound of marijuana, according to police, and tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of grow equipment, including lights, fans and humidifiers.

The plants were in various stages of growth, according to police.

Police arrested Eliezer Sanchez-Diaz, 44, of South Fifth Avenue, the Bronx, New York, and Manuel Imbert, 40, of Webb Avenue, the Bronx, New York.

Police have also applied for a warrant for the person they said was the target of the investigation.

Sanchez-Diaz and Imbert have been charged with possession of a hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell, conspiracy, operation of drug factory

Imbert was also charged with failure to insure a private motor vehicle and improper turn/stop signaling.

Police said this case also led the DEA to another location out of Connecticut. DEA agents made two arrests in that case and confiscated and additional 140 plants.
