Man Exposed Himself to Kids at Mall: Cops

The suspect was caught on surveillance video exposing himself to several children, police said.

Farmington police are looking for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a child at Westfarms Mall over the weekend.

He was caught on camera and investigators released surveillance video because they wanted the public to see it and help track down the man.

The cameras at the mall showed the man walk into the mall on Sunday afternoon. A short time later, he was in Go! Calendars Games and Toys, where cameras caught him expose himself to a little girl as she went by, police said.

The man might have been using his bag as a shield so adults could not see what he was doing.

Parents were horrified when they learned of the allegations.

“Oh my gosh, it's really scary. How do you protect your kids from something like that?” a mother said.

Police said the man, who they believe is in his mid-thirties, was in the store for about 15 minutes.

They said you could see him walking in circles on the surveillance video and that he had scoped out the same child he targeted a short time before.

“I don’t feel secure. I don’t want my kids exposed to that,” said Jade Tran.

Investigators said there was no telling how many kids this man could have victimized and said they need the public’s help to figure this out.

“Anyone who was in the store we encourage them to speak with their children, Find out if anything did happen,” said Lt. Marshall Porter.

Investigators wanted everyone to take a close look at the man to see if you recognize it or if you remember him acting suspicious.

“Please come forward. Any information will help,” Porter said.

Westfarms Mall wouldn’t comment on the case. If you have any information call Farmington Police.
