A 49-year-old Westport man was killed Tuesday night when he was hit by a car on Post Road East.
William Ford was struck by a 2005 Hyundai Accent just after 6 p.m. near 1655 Post Road East. Ford, who lived near the crash site, was in the roadway when he was hit, police said.
Ford was unconscious and had severe injuries when police arrived and was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from injuries suffered in the crash, police said.
Police are investigating.
