A Wethersfield resident alerted police to a possible residential burglar and now police are looking into whether one person is behind several burglaries in the north end of town over the last two months.
A resident called police just before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday after seeing a stranger ring the doorbell to a house and then hop a fence to the back yard.
The neighbor confronted the man, who fled, police said.
For two hours, police searched and found a suspect. He was on a bicycle and police said he might be responsible for the north end break-ins over the past two months.
Police continue to investigate.
They warn residents to be aware if people they don’t recognize are in the neighborhood.
