A police officer was hospitalized after a white powder was found inside the Greenwich town hall late Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to town hall at 101 Field Point Road around 4 p.m. after a mysterious white powder was found inside the building.
The building was evacuated and an officer was taken to a nearby hospital after being exposed to the unknown substance, police said.
There is no word on the condition of the hospitalized individual.
Initial tests show that the powder is not hazardous, but authorities are still waiting on a second round of testing.
