You can call these alternate numbers for routine matters in the meantime.

The Windsor Police Department reports that its routine phone lines are down due to a telephone system problem.

Citizens who call the routine number, 860-688, have been hearing a recording informing them that "the number is no longer valid," police said. 911 emergency lines have not been affected and are working, according to police.

The department's telephone carrier is working to resolve the issue and police said they hope the phone line will be functioning properly again within the next 24 hours.

Anyone in need of routine police assistance can contact police dispatchers at 860-688-1755, 860-688-3378 and 860-6881083, the department said in a news release.
