Woman Accused of Sex Chat Harassment

Police said she posted another woman's information on the chat line.

An East Hartford woman accused of posting another woman's personal information on a sex chat website is apologizing.

South Windsor police arrested Kinciata Smith, 29, on Friday. The victim is the wife of Smith's ex-boyfriend. Smith posted the wife's information because she was mad at her ex-boyfriend, police said.

Smith spoke to NBC Connecticut through her closed apartment door in East Hartford on Tuesday afternoon.

"I know that I made a mistake and I apologize," Smith said.

She is accused of providing a South Windsor woman's personal information to a social media outlet or sex chat website, according to police, and the victim began receiving unwanted phone calls from men looking for sex.

The calls began on Thursday morning, according to the Hartford Courant. The officer investigating the complaint wrote in his police report that the victim's phone was ringing continuously while he was at her home, the paper reported.

Smith also sent text messages to her ex-boyfriend, threatening to give out even more of his wife's personal information, police said.

Smith was charged with second-degree harassment, breach of peace, reckless endangerment and criminal intent to commit risk of injury to a minor.
