Woman Arrested on Gun Charges in Hartford

Hartford police arrested a local woman on gun charges on Friday night after investigating reports she was recklessly pointing a gun on Westland Street toward a crowd of people and making threats, police said.

Police said officers were in the North District of the city to conduct a detail in response to a recent increase of firearm related incidents and responded to 190 Westland St. at 9:11 p.m. on Friday.

Police found the suspect inside a home at recovered a 9mm pistol with 12 rounds of live ammunition. As they investigated, they learned that the suspect, 46-year-old Rosa Quintana, transported another gun to New York City and police there later found the weapon.

Quintana, who is permitted to carry a pistol, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening and breach of peace.
