Homeless Man Accused of Brutal Sex Attack

A Danbury was woman attacked when she left her apartment, police said

Every woman’s worst nightmare is to be attacked, especially while walking out of your home in broad daylight.

What police in Danbury said happened to a woman in the parking lot of her apartment building on Monday is even worse and police have arrested a homeless man, the Danbury News Times reports.

Robert Jones, 45, is accused of attacking the woman around 8 a.m., dragging her inside, assaulting her repeatedly and binding her hands and feet with duct tape before fleeing with her credit cards and cash.

The woman was still bound by tape when she called 911 and gave a detailed description of her attacker, police said. Cops spotted Jones just a few hours later, walking down the street.

Jones is being held on $2 million bond and was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, credit card theft and sixth-degree larceny.

The woman was taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation.
