A 22-year-old Shelton woman opened the door of her house on Wednesday afternoon for a person she thought was a police officer and was assaulted by her boyfriend’s ex-wife and a 14-year-old boy.
The woman was at her Howe Avenue home at noon on when she heard a knock and the person claimed to be a Derby police officer, so she opened the door, police said.
It turned out that the “officer” was actually a 14-year-old boy, police said.
The boy and Stacey Alberino, 32, of East Haven, and a assaulted the woman after she opened the door, police said.
Alberino is the ex-wife of the victim’s boyfriend, police said.
Alberino was later arrested in East Haven and charged with third-degree assault, first-degree burglary and risk of injury to a minor.
She was released on a $25,000 bond and is due in Derby Court on Nov. 29.

The teen was charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer, third-degree assault, first-degree unlawful restraint in and first-degree burglary.
The victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
