Woman Stabs, Kills Friend: Cops

Police said the man was stabbed during an argument Friday afternoon.

A 54-year-old man died after being stabbed with a kitchen knife during an argument in Waterbury on Friday afternoon, according to police.

Daniel Emond, 54, of 217 Scott Road, sustained a stab wound to the upper right side of his chest after arguing with a friend at 161 Scott Road, said Waterbury police spokesman, Captain Chris Corbett.

Emond was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrested Darlene Morey, 56, of 217 Scott Road, and charged her with murder. Her bond is set at $1 million and she was in court on Monday.

She admitted to stabbing the victim, according to court documents.

Corbett said Emond's death is the third homicide in Waterbury this year.
