Woman Killed in Avon Mountain Crash was Driving Drunk: Police

A 33-year-old Simsbury woman was killed in a crash in Avon and West Hartford in May had a been drinking and doing drugs while driving, police said. 

Kelly Gregory was driving on Route 44, swerved and collided into a SUV that was going westbound, police said. Avon Mountain was shut down following the crash. 

The man in the SUV was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 

Both cars had total damage.

Police said on Friday that Gregory had a BAC of .212 and had drugs in her system. They concluded that Gregory was driving under the influence, unreasonable spped and reckless operation.
