New Britain Woman Found

A New Britain woman who had been missing for five days has been found, her family said. She is at Waterbury Hospital, according to her brother.

State police issued a Silver Alert for Christine Stanton, 50, who had been missing since July 16 after leaving the Bantam Court House in Litchfield, about 30 miles away from Stanton's New Britain home

Stanton's brother Mark, said she called an unidentified number from a public phone at the court house, then walked out with no phone, money, identification or medication, which she takes daily for seizures.

Family members said Stanton was held over the weekend for a failure to appear from a prior DUI conviction.

"This is very out of the ordinary for her," Mark Stanton said before his sister was found. "She's a homebody and doesn't go out much."

According to Stanton's court docket, she is due in Bantam Court on Aug. 30.
