Police said the woman was found in an abandoned building beaten and covered in blood.

Hartford police have made an arrest in the rape and assault of a woman in an abandoned building.

The attack happened around 8:30 Saturday night on Broad Street.

Police received a frantic call from a woman who stated she was being held against her will. She reported being beaten and raped, according to police.

When police arrived at the building, they found the woman hanging out of a third floor window covered with blood, according to police.

The woman was taken to Hartford Hospital with injuries to her face and head.

This incident took place more than a month after another woman's body was found beaten and raped on Washington Street.

Residents in the neighborhood say violence has spiked in the area and they hope whoever has been abusing women is brought to justice.
