Police Seek Woman Who Robbed Vernon Bank

    Vernon police are searching for the woman who robbed a local bank Tuesday morning.

    Police are searching for the woman who robbed a bank in Vernon on Tuesday morning.

    According to police, the woman entered the People's United Bank in the Tri-City Plaza shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday. She handed the teller a note demanding money and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

    Police said the woman stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall and is in her late 20s or early 30s. She waas wearing a dark-colored jacket, "bomber" or "trapper" hat with faux fur, blue jeans and tan work boots.

    Authorities said the area was busy with car and foot traffic at the time of the robbery. Anyone with information is urged to call Vernon police detectives at 860-872-9126.
