Woman Struck on Berlin Turnpike

The victim was hit walking home from the gas station, according to Meriden police.

A woman who hit by a car on the Berlin Turnpike in Meriden is at Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, Meriden Police said.

The victim was walking home from a gas station around 8:30 p.m. on Monday night when she was hit by a car as she was trying to cross the Berlin Turnpike, police said.

Police said the woman was wearing dark clothing and the driver had difficulty seeing her.

Police said on Monday night that the woman might have been intoxicated. 

Police have identified the woman as Amie Soto, 29 and the driver as Noel Sanborn. 

Police are investigating.
