Women, 3 Kids Charged In Shoplifting Case

Police in Orange arrested two women and three children, one as young as 9, in a shoplifting scheme at Target.

Police in Orange have charged five people, including a 9-year-old, with shoplifting from a Target.

Officers responded to the Target at 25 Boston Post Road for a shoplifting report around 9 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found Nina Denby, 32, and three minors in parked car with stolen merchandise, according to police. A second adult, 18-year-old Chanelle Kedazulu, was also taken into custody walking out of the store, police said.

Store security told police that the three minors, ages 9, 14 and 15, stole merchandise while working in concert with the two women. The merchandise, totaling $1,253.72, was found in the car, police said.

The three minors were charged with larceny and released to the custody of adults. Police did not release information on the minors because of their ages and it was not clear if the juveniles were related to Denby or Kedazulu.

Denby was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny and three counts of risk of injury to a minor. Kendazulu was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, criminal attempt to commit larceny and three counts of risk of injury to a minor. Both women were released on bond.
