Wrong Way Crash on I-91 in Rocky Hill

Several vehicles were involved, police said.

State police are responding to a wrong-way crash on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill.

Police said the driver got onto the highway in the wrong directions at exit 19 and drove north in the southbound lanes to exit 23, causing four crashes. There were no serious injuries.

The driver appeared to be ill, state police said, and has been taken to Hartford Hospital. Police have not released the age or gender of the driver.

I-91 south was expected to be shut down, State Police Lt. Paul Vance said.
