The Hartford Yard Goats closer, Matt Pierpont, was named to the 2018 Eastern League All-Star Team, the league announced Thursday.
Pierpont has converted 28 saves while recording 68 strikeouts and a 2.14 ERA over 54.2 innings of work in 50 games for the team this season.
He currently leads the Eastern League in saves, appearances and games finished.
