For the first time, The Harwinton Fairgrounds is getting ready to host New England's oldest food and wine festival.
A Taste of the Litchfield Hills is set for Aug. 25 to 26.
Since 1985, A Taste of The Litchfield Hills has brought thousands of foodies together for a sampling of the region's best food and and wine.
Guests will also enjoy live entertainment and upscale shopping in an outdoor bizaar.
After years at various locations around Litchfield County (including a winery, ski area and a road-racing venue), this is the first time the festival will be held at the Harwinton Fairgrounds.
Event manager Clinton Billups said the site is easy to get to from Routes 4 and 8 and offers plenty of parking.
"The Harwinton Fairgrounds also will provide the festival with more space for additional attractions, entertainment and exhibits," Billups said.
