Fire broke out in the ventilation system for a pizza oven at Abate’s Pizza in Orange on Thursday morning and the restaurant will be closed at least through the weekend.
The manager, Mike Avena, said the fire started around 9:30 a.m. and it might have been caused by an electrical malfunction.
There is no damage to the outside of the restaurant, but the restaurant will be closed at least through the weekend.
Avena said he used a fire extinguisher to help battle the fire before firefighters arrived.
