Location Posed Problems for Firefighters Battling Flames

A brush fire burned between four and five acres of land in East Haven Tuesday night.

Firefighters saw large flames coming from behind Calabro Cheese and Town Fair Tire just after 5:30 Tuesday.

The brush fire sent a large column of smoke seen throughout people in East Haven.

The conditions posed problems for firefighters.  The fire was located near a marsh, and posed a safety hazard for firefighters.   Crews fought flames from a distance, and it took more than an hour to get the fire under control.
