Acting Montville High School Assistant Principal On Leave

An administrator at Montville High School has been placed on leave, according to a statement from the assistant superintendent.

In a statement, Assistant Superintendent Laurie Pallin confirmed that Montville High School's acting assistant principal has been placed on leave due to an investigation into comments made to a student.

Phil Orbe was serving as assistant principal at Montville High School after three administrators were arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged “fight club” at the school.

"Late Monday afternoon, the acting Montville High School Assistant Principal was been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of an investigation which only relates to comments made to a student. I want to be very clear that this has absolutely nothing to do with the previous situation, in which three other administrators were put on leave,” Pallin said in a statement.

Officials said an assistant principal at Leonard J. Tyl Middle School, who previously worked as an assistant principal at the high school, will cover Orbe’s responsibilities.

No other details were immediately available.
