Former Connecticut Speaker of the House James Amann officially kicked off his candidacy for Governor in 2010.
Amann has spent the last several months exploring a run for governor and held a celebration on Wednesday in Bridgeport to kick off his campaign.
The former Speaker could potentially face a primary challenge. Both Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz and Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy have formed exploratory committees for a run for Governor but have yet to officially join the race.
