Woman Dies After Head-On Crash With Ambulance in Franklin: Police

A 49-year-old Willimantic woman has died after her vehicle and an ambulance collided head-on crash in Franklin Thursday night.

The crash happened on Route 32 in Franklin just before 11 p.m.

State police said the ambulance was heading north on Route 32 in the area of Pleasure Hill Road and Dawn Brett, 49, of Willimantic, was driving a Toyota Camry south on Route 32 in the same area when the two vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.

The driver of the ambulance and the passenger in the front right seat were transported to Backus Hospital in Norwich.

Brett was pronounced dead at the scene. She was only person in the Camry, according to state police.

Lifestar said they were requested to the scene but could not fly due to weather.
