Another, Unrelated Child Porn Arrest at UConn

A second UConn student has been arrested on child porn charges.

Steven Donald Lewis, 21, of Plainville, was arrested on Wednesday, the same day that UConn football player Gregory McKee was accused of importing child porn. The arrests are not related.

On Nov. 9, Bristol police who work with the FBI’s Computer Crime Task Force in New Haven logged into an Internet file sharing program and downloaded 34 images of child pornography from a shared directory Lewis maintained, according to U.S. Attorney David Fein.

On Wednesday, officials seized Lewis’ laptop computer and arrested him at his dormitory on a federal criminal complaint charging him with possession of child pornography and receipt and distribution of child pornography

He appeared in court and was released on a $100,000 bond. Fein said Lewis would live with a family member.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Connecticut Computer Crimes Task Force are investigating.
