A record number of visitors attended the Big E in West Springfield, Mass. this year, with a final tally of over 1.6 million people.
Data released Sunday shows that 1,629,527 people attended the Big E fair in 2019. The previous record was set at 1,543,570 last year, according to a Big E spokesperson.
The highest single-day attendance record was also broken on Saturday, Sept. 21 with 176,544 people.
“As our event continues to grow, I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support we receive, and I want to thank everyone in this region who supports us by attending The Big E," President and CEO of the Exposition Eugene Cassidy said in a statement. "Your support allows our mission of agriculture and education to thrive, to grow, and to have a national impact.”
More than 80 performers took the stage in this year's fair.
