Two United Illuminating offices have been evacuated and Church Street in New Haven is closed after someone called a bomb threat into the energy company offices Wednesday afternoon.
Someone called the 30th floor at around 2 p.m. and threatened that a bomb would be detonated, officials said.
Emergency crews evacuated both 157 and 129 Church Street because both hold UI offices, officials said.
Police traced the call to a payphone on Whalley Avenue and haz-mat crews are investigating.
