Bouncer Stabs Partygoer in Waterbury: Police

A Waterbury man facing felony charges after allegedly stabbing a guest at a party he hosted in June, police said.

Police said 19-year-old Christian Santiago was bouncing a party at his home on Colley Street the night of June 23. According to police, a fight broke out when 21-year-old Brandon Aviles tried to bring a bottle of alcohol into the party. Santiago stopped him, and Aviles punched Santiago in the face, police said.

The men struggled on the ground and Santiago pulled out a knife. Police said he stabbed Aviles in the abdomen, and the fight continued until someone fired a gun and people began running from the party.

Aviles made his way to Waterbury Hospital for treatment, according to police. His condition is unknown.

Police have arrested Santiago and charged him with first-degree assault. Santiago is being held on a $50,000 bond.
