The bridge from Route 8 North to Interstate 84 West in Waterbury is closed.
Police said the bridge is closed due to unforeseen circumstances relating to the bridge deck demolition and all traffic looking to access I-84 from Route 8 North must use the U-turn -- exit 35.
State police said drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
