The city of Bristol has issued mandatory water restrictions for all outside water use.
The Mayor’s Office and Bristol Water Department announced Wednesday that the city’s reservoirs were below 50 percent from capacity because of the lack of rain. The city is restricting outdoor water use including, but not limited to, watering lawns, using underground irrigation systems, and washing cars and houses.
Residents may still water flowers and gardens but only with a garden hose or watering can.
The Bristol Water Department can discontinue service to a customer if they find that a customer is jeopardizing the safety of the water supply by ignoring these restrictions.
