Bruce Is Back and Tickets Are Available

A sign of musical greatness is when you’ve sold out shows so long that your former drummer’s kid is old enough, and seasoned enough, to join you on stage.

We’re talking about none other than Bruce Springsteen. Max Weinberg’s 19-year-old son, Jay, was enlisted to replace him for the European leg of the tour so pops could concentrate on his television career, running the house band for the Tonight Show.

Springsteen is bringing his “Working On a Dream” tour to town tonight. It’s his fourth trip here since October 2007 but his first show at the Meadows.

He often sells out, but the Comcast Theatre, at 61 Savitt Way in Hartford, is a sprawling venue and tickets are still available, on the lawn, as well as some shed seats.

Expect a good show. Other than a few painful moments during the Super Bowl when the superstar looked like he was in more pain than his sprightlier days, he proved that he’s a legend and can entertain people from their teens to grandparents.
