Mountain Road in Granby Reopens After Brush Fire

Mountain Road in Granby has reopened after being closed because of a brush fire.

Granby police Tweeted that Mountain Road is closed between Silkey Road and the Hartland Town line.

Fire officials said the fire was "off the beaten path" in the woods in the area of 277 Mountain Road. Mutual aid responded from Hartland, Barkhamsted, East Granby and Granville, Massachusetts.

Police said three acres burned and one outbuilding was destroyed. No homes in the area were damaged and no injuries were reported.

The cause is not determined but the fire marshal said dry conditions and wind may have contributed.
